So the first Katshuhika Ooi was a ghost or something, huh. I suppose the last sex scene was also 'imaginary' and she did it by herself. I wonder if Kamimura intended some juxtaposition between erotic images and snakes here.
I felt it was going into a yuri direction (perhaps with a revenge twist at the end, we'll see) since the last chapter, glad I wasn't wrong. It's only the second time I see Hokusai's daughter in manga by the way, the only other one I know of is Hinako Sugiura's 'Sarusuberi'
Need to use this story to lure BL fans into translating more of Kamimura's stuff :D
(I wonder if it was a common theme in his works or if this story is a rare example)
I initially expected the story to go down the starvation route, the mermaid would 'capture' the men so that they would go to her everyday and give her fish everyday instead of feeding their families, and eventually the entire village would starve to death (I mean, even the opening page had a...
That was great, the 'dream' spread is fantastic. Kinda reminds me of "Savannah" in how Shirato Sanpei approached storytelling although this one has at least some dialogue. I guess it's based on some legend?
Is the "older style" actually Ken Ishikawa? No matter how I look at it, it's Go Nagai's art. It seems like the manga was basically illustrated by both of them, hence the drastic artstyle changes. English wiki says they were both illustrators (despite Nagai only being credited as a writer), and a...
Anything by Shintaro Kago or Ohkoshi Koutaro (he also has an adaptation of "Human chair" by the way, ch 4 here https://mangadex.org/title/350d5706-1455-439b-8a49-d724d988263c/ryouki-keiji-marusai)
That would be a silly rule to make, manga pages are also like a database of sorts, a lot of things uploaded here you can't find in other databases for example. And it can prompt somebody to pick up a manga. Restricting it like that is ridiculous
Nice classic, the art and expressions are so good here. Seeing translation notes for honorifics really makes me wonder how old this scanlation is :D Lililicious have been around since forever, weren't they?
Yajikita Gakuen (also untranslated) and Sukeban Deka (sort of has a similar vibe IMO), also Kunio Iwakoshi's works (there're some translated over at EH)
