This manga is frankly good and all, but with the specified end point it's basically a set up for the real story that isn't told here. It did a great job of making me want more, but if I have to go find that 'more' someplace else I'm left with at least some disappointment.
I normally don't bother to add a review for stories that already have hundreds of comments but I really felt like I needed to say that this one is indeed awful and I don't think it's the sort of thing where it comes back around to 'so bad it's good' for most people.
The art and visual choices...
Thought I'd go find some actual chapters. Normally I'm willing to give things a long while before i give up but it really wasn't worth any effort to dig up. I don't meant to bash the creatives who are the foundation for my manga hobby but it simply wasn't a high production value vs the required...
I'm not sure how I feel about this so far. I am curious how it'll go but it feels like it's taken 10 chapters to flesh out what many stories do in the first 2-3.
Some of the takes in here are just wild. I never thought I'd see someone argue that STDs are a reasonable 'consequence of their actions', implying they shouldn't be treated or something? Occupation-related conditions and injuries exist all over, not just in sex work. Since the MC is about...
All things told, I can appreciate what this story is trying to do. I've reached the end of a major arc and dunno if the rest is just an epilogue or a sequel but a lot of the contrived and dumb bullshit start to make sense as the plot progresses and more things are revealed about why the story is...
I also initially thought this was a different story. This one is either super generic or it basically does recycle an existing set of characters (maybe with some updates to characterization for plot purposes). Was it "Time to change the Genre"?
I've powered through about 20 chapters waiting for...
I'm definitely interested in the plot and characters but yeah, this story really makes it difficult with the lack of coherency and how contrived the drama is with misunderstandings and bizarre assumptions. It goes a bit too far to be justified by any one thing so you really do have to strain the...
I found myself surprised how much I actually am enjoying this. It's a step up from most of the junk I've seen in the related genres (video game isekai, dungeon hunter, etc). It's definitely frustrating how unfair all of this is and knowing that the main character should be able to fight back but...
I'm biting the bullet and reading the missing chapters elsewhere. There are some good things here but it's overall a mixed bag.
To the surprise of no one, much of this sticks to the usual 'regressor' script of a person going back in time and abusing their memory (which is sometimes perfect and...
I guess this is meant to be just a goofy comedy? But with many of the same beats as the more serious 'dungeon hunter' genre stories? It's just so weird that I can't properly appreciate what is apparently supposed to be amusing.
This is a good question - while I lack expertise in the subject I think trains actually make plenty more sense even in the real world but especially in the context of an isekai. The research side of things will surely be more in line with what they already know and the industries needed to...
I am finding this one to be delightful. It doesn't appear deep at first but if you actually look at what the characters are saying and thinking, they clearly have their own perspectives and motivations that set this apart from the usual garbage we get in isekai.
The main character is a pretty...
I'm trying to give this the benefit of the doubt, and when it's good it's really not that bad. But when it's bad, it's pretty bad. It doesn't help I had to go find the early chapters elsewhere. I'm leaving this unmarked for spoilers because it's more commentary on general plot and not specific...
I'm not yet at the point that people said this is apparently axed, but I have to say it would be no wonder if it's true. The fights are pretty disatisfying. I wouldn't mind the unusual personality on MC but with these fights dragging on and on making no progress, most of it is just him...
Same way a guy gets reincarnated with overpowered magic and can swordfight at age 3. MAGIC
But semi-seriously: any time the plot takes place on another world it's reasonable to drop assumptions that require human genetics to work the same as homo sapiens as we know them on earth.
The start for this one is pretty irritating no doubt, but having caught up to where it currently is, it's showing some promise that it's growing out of the more negative traits. These aren't really spoilers but if you aren't willing to gauge for yourself, here's something to summarize...
Well, now that we have an ending, I can say that it's not exactly like the prediction above but it's still pretty abrupt and I think will be less satisfying than what could have been. Overall I don't felt like I wasted my time with it, though.
For what it's worth, I definitely don't blame it on the folks doing the work of bringing it over here. As a series that now has an anime, it only makes sense that there should be interest in the manga. Anything I wrote was strictly my thoughts on the original work as I understand it.
