I'd never heard the "round trip/go-and-come-back" explanation for why "-maru" is used in ship names, but it strikes me that there's a lovely bit of irony in Star Trek's "Kobayashi-maru" scenario...the "no-win/definitely-ain't-comin'-back" scenario.

On page 2, he's not counting the members, he's making the equivalent of "tsk" or otherwise clicking his tongue in annoyance ("チッ", or "ch'").

Not sure what the original text was here, but the phrase I've seen used elsewhere is "it's darkest at the base of a lighthouse"; the beam can be seen miles away, but the base of the lighthouse is in its own shadow. Same meaning, though: something's so close you don't even notice or consider it...

It appears to have been changed since when I made the comment; where they now say "cargo guy" on page 7, it was previously "carrier". I was just pointing out that, in a medieval-ish setting like this, normally a person hired to physically carry your cargo for you would be called a "porter".

Looking forward to this, see how it goes. One piece of feedback to the translators: rather than "carrier", a person whose job it is to luggage or goods for another would most commonly be called a "porter". Not a common job anymore, so the word's not used often, but it's what the job he takes...

Thanks for the translation! I don't generally nitpick, but on page 2, where Yun says "二度目はないからな" (translated here as "there won't be a second time"), I think it might be more properly translated as "it's because there's no second chances here" or something to that effect, referring to this...

@D0ncoming5torm > nope Yep. Kilograms are heavier than pounds. You might be getting confused with kilometers, which are smaller than their Imperial counterpart miles (roughly 8 km to 5 mi.) But one metric ton = 1000 kg = 2205 lbs, and 1 kg = 2.2 lbs.

@D0comingStorm > 2.20 kilos, which is 1 pound. This is backwards: 2.2 pounds is 1 kilo.

For the metric impaired: 17kg = 3,909 norwegian kroner in 1-krone coins.

a.) I'm glad this arc is over. -.- b.) I'm guessing the point of the arc was probably to give Kazuya the "mana sense" and "mana manipulation" abilities...since it interacted with his energy flow to the tsukumogami, it'd make sense he can still make use of it outside of the amasogi's world.

So...people were so distracted by fanservice that they failed to realize that the manga itself espoused progressive ideals and was critical of current business practices, and, as responsible translators, the former translators gave the reader the context to understand what practices were being...

First we had light novels. Then we had mangas based off those novels. Now we have light novels that serve as the titles for a manga. When will this madness end?

So, with the revalations in this chapter, here's my thoughts. Amasogi exist because desires get out of hand. The owner of the amasogi either hates what happens to the little sister figure in the story and tries to avert it, or has someone in their real life they can't save (or couldn't save)...
