I went through rigorous training by the Moles of the Redwall series back in my youth, so I'm fine reading the phonetic accents. But I'd second @darekpawlo suggestion as the compromise I'd prefer of character personality vs enjoyability for all readers.

She'll give his mouth and throat a good cleaning and it will power up his breath attack. Last page you saw some talking going on inside his mouth after all, clear hint she's not actually swallowed (yet)

@VincentYamato did you mean jumping sharks or "jumping the shark"? The second one, which I only know second hand, was a tv show getting so tired of ideas the main character water-ski jumped over a shark in on episode. After which, the show had "jumped the shark" 🤓

I'm enjoying how the party isn't a harem situation. There's still the male wish fulfilment of traveling and fighting with 3 young women, but with mutual respect building instead of romance. Princess knight love interest is a nice touch, MCs oblivious actually matches his other personality traits.
