I honestly think this is a low point for the series. Their "dating" has come up multiple times throughout the series from other characters, and has been addressed repeatedly as them being together just being natural. This here feels forced and like I'm suddenly reading an entirely different manga.

If she had persisted in the way she was in the early chapters, perhaps, as that was entirely a repeated gag, though I still think I would've preferred it to this cop-out and I believe there are plenty of ways to keep it fresh seeing just how she manages to mess up. However, outside of that...

This manga went from being cheeky and fun to just being...typical. Bullying, conspiracies, hidden abilities...I really wish it was just a useless vampire girl having to top the other 6 generals through pure bluffing ability. The "magic stones" are probably the single worst bit, convenience...

The whole route this manga is going down is very meh, especially because when it comes right down to it Saki is just gay and afraid. It has nothing specifically to do with the premise or setting of the story, and just feels like the characters are being made to purposefully act stereotypically...

Starts out fantastic but really nosedives at the "This Man" arc with the forced backstory reveals and never really recovers its pacing. Not too surprising that it ended relatively early for that reason, since it rapidly ran out of character plots.

Gonna be honest, this chapter just felt like a super artifical way of showing her worth.

Kind of a poor ending, most of all because it was driven by a sudden bout of fear than Natsuyu actually taking a step forward.
