TBF it seemed from his reaction like he'd already learned that trying to do something like that wouldn't work.

Aw man, kid's got one of those families where everyone else is so loud and forceful that he's already learned that no one listens to him.

The vibe to me is less about the guy in the story's motivations and more about the audience I feel like it's primarily aiming itself at - it's more about what I feel like the story is (intentionally or not) saying so far about how it sees the world working.

this kind of feels like Nice Guy Fantasy; 'I saved this girl from all those gross dudes hitting on her so of course she'll end up liking me instead' the vibes are kind of unpleasant so far

she may not be honest but her tail sure is :smug:

moral of the story is 'freaking talk to your significant other, please'

This is still a wonderful story, but it is annoying to see yet another fantasy religion that seems like its clergy don't actually believe it and are just using it as a political tool
