Yeah, that IS what happened. Anthony is a regular human, Chris is missing, ostensibly dead. When he 'became a shadow' to calm down Barbara, Kate was just cloaking him in soot to make him appear to be an adult shadow.

I think they don't care, all that matters is that more shadows are produced. A rebellion probably isn't a threat, neither are intruders.

we actually did know he was shot because one of the first scenes we got after the timeskip was him bleeding out in a river before the blonde doctor guy found him... it's just literally never come up again until now. it's horrific writing regardless.

azuma is a character who only exists to be in peril for uruma's sake... she's never added anything to the story except "be female and suffer"

tbh a lot of this manga seems partly inspired by Naoki Urasawa's work Some of the poses Kyou is in, especially his early manga suits, look exactly like Johan from Monster.
