Apparently this series is still being published by its doujin circle. The series started as a single chapter in 1999 but the latest volume came out in 2019. I found a website in Japanese where you can order volumes of this series online but it's probably only for addresses in Japan. http://m-ex.jp/

From what I understand from @Hypothon's spoilers, the story gets really dark later on. I hope they make it less painful for the manga version.

I follow the web novel. A light novel is probably out too. Glad to see a manga version. Both the MCs are complete jerks on the inside but kind & nice on the outside. The story is pretty funny.
