the "sequel" about the alchemist prince is a webtoon (probably also a novel) and isn't good imo. A lot of people love it though, good for them. There's also a prequel where we follow the first demon prince who tries very hard to farm and feed is people to stop a war. That one is really great...

Fun fact, the basic design of a nuclear generator, is just that of a very big steam engine. You just massively increase the steam pressure, and with that the size and number of turbines you can run with it. So... If MC has the knowledge of modern world, and a big enough magic stone for power...

Let's take a minute to remember steam engines were invented by Archimedes, way back in ancient greece, yeah the Eureka guy. So no, it's not out of place to "invent" that for a medieval country. In fact, if they didn't go through the same kind of dark ages we did with obscurantism and religion...

Even for European cities, they weren't that small. Constantinople at it's high in the 4/5th century, had between 250.000 and 1.000.000 as it's population estimate. That's way bigger than just one castle and a dozen building around it like in this chapter. :D

Not that small. Paris in the 1100 already had about 25000 citizens. Just a couple centuries later, it reached 200.000 in the 1300. The drawing in this chapter is of a village of a couple hundred at best. We have a tendency to think of medieval times as really small towns, mostly due to fiction...
