I read that last panel and thought, "Uh-oh, flag set. You're totally getting owned by some shrubbery."

I believe they pick up the cat girl next. As an aside, the elf girl joins thru their connections with the duke, but that's a ways off.

Hopelessly outclassed and outmaneuvered from the start.

Haha..you beat me to it. Some armadillos in the south west US carry the bacteria that causes leprosy. You cant tell which ones have it, so eating them would be roulette of sorts.
