It's very obvious that the 'isekai/genderswap' bit was purely to cash in on fans of the genres and basically tempt them into buying the book, while the rest of the story is what the author ACTUALLY wanted to make.

I agree with everything you said, but am also 200% certain you just put more thought and logic into it than the author did, so prepare to be disappointed on that front.

It does. The overall logic is not sound because the country is in such dire straits, but the steps to take towards the goal are, if that makes sense. If all he gives a damn about is 'becoming the next king with unlimited power', then it makes sense to get rid of any naysayers with influence...
