I Yor was outside the car, I would understand Melinda's driver making that comment, but it feels out of place. However the author was also in a pickle because Yor wouldn't say that either and he was clearly trying to convey a message here with that.
I don't understand when a character does this, either they do it because they don't see the other person as a person but as an "alien specimen they have to research" or it just is a reaction of someone that lacks social awareness, either way it doesn't feel like a normal human being interaction.

For real though, I liked some of the casting, but I hate when they feel the need to include an original character that most likely will be Miko's love interest. I would be surprised if I was wrong on that and even better if he was actually...
I noticed she was wearing under the collar, but she also returned the outfit for the police, and the woman that was arrested could have said: "there were two outfits," then what? Toki-sensei might be a perv but that would be a bit too dumb.
