current with raws or current with scanlations? theres a lot of series that are being scanlated that have been completed for a long time in their original language but are only now being scanlated, there's about a 40 volume discrepancy between the 2, raws and english, in one series i follow...

i don't think theres enough benefit to be provided by having a character database here, particularly when one can find the info on wikipedia or the series' wikia, to justify the work involved in making it. a link to the relevant wiki would serve the same purpose.

follow author / artist would be a great addition, even moreso if it provides the ability to search for a specific author/artist instead of "names that include this string" as a side effect.

in cases like Touhou, official stuff, like prequels, sequels, and gaidens should be marked as relations, and then the countless doujins linked en masse like that. so like for to aru, main, railgun, and accelerator should all link to each other as being related, but no need to specifically link...

if you consider the stuff on bookstore shelves as "spoilers" then thats a personal problem. really the only question is whether the volume covers should match the raws or the scanlations.

completion status by language - raw + user default/selected - would be a great benefit

rather than being only visible to the one user, a different set of tags aside from genre for stuff like "lolis", "isekai", "tsundere", etc, would be pretty useful. though "harem" isn't exactly a genre either and it gets used as a genre tag, it would also be more of a "general tag" or whatever...

the anime covers up to the beginning of the dark continent arc, so you can just watch it. for beyond that its mangastream or official tankoban releases.

it should be split into 2 - "raw status" and "scanlation status" (for the English version). problem solved.

the other possibility is that only humans (and probably demihumans) from the other world are blocked, while monsters and inanimate objects aren't. you'll notice that touru doesn't have a job on his status so maybe that's the deciding factor, only those with no job can pass.

you can read all the chapters on webtoons tho, so its not really necessary here. the names are a bit annoying tho; i'll never accept "endorsi" for my waifu androssi.
