This fight doesn't really make much sense. Orn was able to kill the black dragon previously alone. It stands to reason that with much stronger, competent party members, they should be able to kill it without this much trouble. And why would the previous black dragon, not show it's full power...

It didn't get axed so much as the author pretty much abandoned the light novel. So no more source material. Publisher probably thought there was no point in continuing a manga that doesn't really have an ending.

So, are going from about 3/4 of an inch to over 8 miles long? Either the author is a fucking idiot, or something got lost in translation.
