I agree with the they/them stuff, Tachibana and Jinguuji have been nothing but conflicted with Tachi's gender the whole story. It's a gender swap story for a reason. I definitely say it's a symbol of Jinguuji beginning to recognize that while Tachibana is a girl now, they're still his Childhood...
