The light novel was axed but from what I see I think they'll continue this as a manga at least. I don't understand why it got axed tho. It's not unpopular and the LN even got an award.

Just binge read the manga. It differs a little bit from the LN. Although it followed the LN's main plot. The manga depiction has been given more flair.
