[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

@TMW Short answer? Yes, I do. Long answer; You know what's funny? I wasn't even trying to be inflammatory. I genuinely had an issue understanding what the hell you were talking about and tried to extrapolate a concise statement from that. You spent a lot of pointless effort being...

[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

@PantsMan Unless there's some other aspect of my case that you disagree with but haven't mentioned yet, this comes down to a vote in favor of removing whatever rules we may have about staying on topic because they're unnecessary. @TMW You've got an unrealistically cynical view of people if...

Iron Ladies - Ch. 225 - Die On The Spot

Fear and intimidation a valid tools of diplomacy. And the MC has pretty close to mastered both.

[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

@PantsMan This mostly applies to politics, but if people aren't following the rules and staying on topic when serious discussions crop up (which IMO they usually don't, even when the discussion starts out serious), then we need to either change the rules that we're not strictly enforcing, or we...

Nothing seemd to load on Firefox

This is something that happens occasionally with Firefox, though I haven't been able to pinpoint why. It's not just Mangadex, either; Imgur and other sites with a lot of images in quick succession seem to cause problems every now and then. If you haven't already, try clearing your history by...

    Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils

This a much better series than most Chinese wuxia. Clear art with a minimum of flourishes, moderately interesting characters, no unnecessary exposition. 8/10 The MC in particular is a different kind of character than most. Smart, witty, rather peaceful and laid back but not passive.

    Sengoku Komachi Kuroutan

Is this manga overly romantical? I usually don't like series where romance is the focus.

[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

If we're going to have rules above and beyond the standard guidelines, I wouldn't want much more than what I've already suggested. This whole site seems to work best when a certain amount of free-flowing shenanigans and abrasiveness is allowed.

[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

On the other hand, there's a certain amount of self-mockery we can accomplish which would very much fit the purpose of the subforum - serious, but not destructive. Therefore, I vote that we go full chuuni and call it: THE BLACK ROAD

NEET dakedo Hello Work ni Ittara Isekai ni Tsuretekareta

The romance is nothing special, simple and to the point. More character development than most isekais, but nothing drastic. The MC is strong but not op, and moderately intelligent. The series actually has a fairly realistic view of polygamy and slavery, as well as some of the basic points of...

NEET dakedo Hello Work ni Ittara Isekai ni Tsuretekareta - Vol. 1 Ch. 3

Oh man, this brings back memories. Definitely following this.

[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

@ABCsOfLife Which is why I said other names are fine in the title. Suggestions are welcome. @Zephyrus I was under the impression that anything posted in the general subforum was supposed to at least kind of stick to the topic of the specific thread, which in my observation they haven't. Are...

NEET dakedo Hello Work ni Ittara Isekai ni Tsuretekareta - Vol. 1 Ch. 2

Now that's interesting. A realistic take on ploygamy? If the series keeps this level of realism, I'm following.

[Poll] New forum section called The Maelstrom (or something like, idk) :maybe:

This is something I half-expected given that Mangadex has (so far) proven to have a much more healthy community than others, but recently the General sub-section has been filling up with really serious topics that tend to stray into tangents and long debates because people have questions and...

    Isekai Kenkokuki - Vol. 3 Ch. 24.1

Fucking hell, I'm dropping this. The author is an idiot who doesn't know his history and is once again implementing the tired old bullshit of "ancient people are stupid, so tech makes me god".

Kenja no Mago - Vol. 10 Ch. 31

This is so annoying, especially because I'm feeling pity more than anything else towards the author. (S)he's trying so hard to make this a somewhat more adult shonen manga than normal, and I really appreciate it with the more developed romance. But when we're getting to more serious topics...

Suggesting that poor people shouldn't be to Bear Children. it's common sense

@GigaGigue You are literally arguing in favor of "Might makes right" which effectively invalidates the entirety of you argument and claims, as well as any further discussion. Because if might makes right, the entirety of what you're talking about changes the instant someone proves "stronger"...

Suggesting that poor people shouldn't be to Bear Children. it's common sense

@Teddy That wasn't exactly the point I was trying to make, so apologies for being unclear. The passage you quoted and its surrounding context was meant to be a description of what can and should be enforced as a matter of government law and/or policy. For a variety of reasons, the stuff in...

Suggesting that poor people shouldn't be to Bear Children. it's common sense

@Teddy That whole first section establishes the necessity of adult supervision of, care for, and relationships with children, but nothing more. So I would argue that, on a societal scale, such things should be left to the parents, except in such cases where the parents are actively destroying...

Suggesting that poor people shouldn't be to Bear Children. it's common sense

@Drifter Entirely agree on the first bit. I have to partially disagree on the second, because I would posit that that was a flaw with Feudalism itself, not purely a population issue. Every form of government has its own integral weakness that cannot be removed, only guarded against; the flaw...
