I recently started reading the book and in book 1 the devs say that the game has no partying or guilds, so the only chats are public and friend which is limited to pier to pier.
While I don't hate the "villain who keeps lucking into being a hero" trope, I much prefer Liam's whole "I am evil by our world's standards but not by a feudal system's". The whole lucking into stuff can get pretty stale pretty fast.
There has been shown that friend chat exists, it's how Rare communicates with her non-human allies. It's possible that party chat itself doesn't exist haven't got this far in the book yet.
Even on the off chance our "Heroes" actually manage to win, it would be a pyrrhic victory, since at the start of the fight Rare sent her undead to capture the town and castle while she played her role.
