Theres no official term, but it's basically getting out a translation (normally of lower quality) faster than another group. Sometimes it's fine if it's both higher quality and the old group haven't uploaded in a while. If the group have seperatly announced they're dropping it, it's not...

There's was a seperate group that doesn't upload on mangadex I assume. Probably spamms ads down the reader's throats. Most of the readership is on mangadex anyway so I never saw them as a problem

Generally, it's seen as bad practice to snipe a manga from another group that either hasn't put up a drop notice or haven't updated for months. It funnels away donations from higher quality ones (if they take them) and pressures them into rushing out lower quality scans. If you want to bet...
