Good info, thanks. Major mixed feelings about it -- Japanese manga tends to struggle between the extremes of gratuitous attempted sexual assault sometimes played up for fanservice even vs. contrived and instant feel-good kidnapping resolutions, but I don't really know if I have a perfect better...

Honestly I absolutely hate hate hate the "we met as kids and made a promise that we remember a decade+ later". Not only does it cheapen the real relationship, it's also plain weird to see kids act like teenagers in 6-year-old bodies (and, you know, childhood memories don't really work like that...
