My own perception is pretty much the opposite: she isn't in love with Ei, she never was, she just has affection for him owing to their long years of friendship, in a way that's easy to mistake for love. She's built up an idea of Ei in her head as her ideal boyfriend, and she's contorting herself...

I like the dynamic where the protagonist's genre savvy has actually turned into a different kind of density, he's so stuck on noticing the classic romcom shenanigans that he can't help but notice what's actually happening around him.

The whole premise of deriving deep insights from kids drawings seems to be really pushing it, I mean I'm sure there's a subconscious reason for why anyone makes any choices while drawing something, but the way they think they can read kids' emotions through them seems very harebrained.

Not a good direction for this series but I guess it was sort of inevitable; would've liked this way more if it was just straight up a romance between the main dude and the cat, with no childhood friend involved.

The art in this manga is generally very good, but there were a few panels and one particular page, the one where they burst through the wall, that really confused me. Might be just because I am sleepless, though.

Yeah, it amuses me that I can tell what happened here even without a translator's note explaining it. They do this a lot in these mangas. Anyway, didn't like this chapter too much. Felt like he was being a bit mean to Houjou.

Feel like "they're siblings" angle is just going to prove an annoying obstacle for the guy and the cat to develop their relationship

I liked the panels where it's just a direct shot of Akane, without any special effects or anything, depicting it as you would actually see it in the audience. I was interested in seeing how she wins this without making the audience laugh, though, and the revelation here seems less exciting than...

I mean, to be fair to the main dude, he does point out it's ridiculous that her feelings aren't considered. She's the one who volunteers.
