I think there's a pretty big difference between an age gap between independent adults and a teacher/student relationship. As someone who has read all of Yodokawa's serializations and lots of their oneshots, I'd be quite surprised if this actually ended in teacher/student.

I don't understand how this mindset-- that yuri stories need to focus primarily on the romance, or else be bad yuri-- is so prevalent. Would you prefer that any story with romance, but where that romance isn't the main focus, be straight? Surly you want yuri to show up in more stories, not less...
