The speech bubble is in a completely different style from the ones Tanzaki's using, and it doesn't have an arrow pointing toward him. Also, his expression in the next panel is one of shock at seeing her, where you'd expect the first panel to show a transition to shock if it were him saying that.

Page 36: You got your subjects and objects wrong. "If I hadn't heard from my mother, I would have left Aoi alone even now," is nonsensical. In the context of the conversation, it is most likely, "If he hadn't heard from her mother, he would have left Aoi alone even now."

Likely because of the one-shot it's based on.

Because the previous MTLer pitched a fit when people tried to give him constructive criticism, and then when BuyVelomobiles/Orchid (Velo is Orchid's TL) started posting versions with better TL, the MTLer deleted all their posts in a huff and flounced off.
