Baki Rahen - Vol. 8 Ch. 66 - Sworn Ally

Jack's first proper fight in Rahen is with Koushou who has not had proper screen time in multiple instalments of the series and is supplemented by a completely unrelated return of Hanada who has not shown up since Grappler Baki. This added to the fact that his fight with Hanayama was more about...

    Kanreki Hime - Ch. 13 - Determination

They've been mentioning real things by name since the very first chapter. The first page, in fact, mentions an Urusei Yatsura movie with a screenshot of it as the panel.

Baki Rahen - Vol. 8 Ch. 66 - Sworn Ally

Never mind, completely understandable. Finally a real critique of Rahen's development.

Baki Rahen - Vol. 8 Ch. 66 - Sworn Ally

I even ripped the image straight from there. I can't stress it enough, though: there's never been a better time.

Baki Rahen - Vol. 8 Ch. 66 - Sworn Ally

The kind of "Jack arc" you're talking about is a hallucination. The manga is titled Baki Rahen. It means "those around Baki". Just because it started with Jack doesn't mean it was supposed to be all about him.

    Kanreki Hime - Ch. 12 - Meeting

Completely agreed, I don't doubt that if they thought about buying more dosages Goh would be very against it for his friends' sakes. One thing to note though, despite how the housemates can act sometimes, is that their intention was just to "lift the vibe" of the house by having a nice girl...

    Agnes Kamen - Vol. 5 Ch. 43 - Compatibility

Torajima really brings it all together. I said somewhere else he's my favourite and probably the best Inoki stand-in because of his philosophy. "Shameless not just in fighting, but in business too."

Baki Rahen - Vol. 8 Ch. 64 - In Place of a Greeting

Not sure if you already know, but "grappler" was a term for MMA fighters at the time of part 1 before it was more like the sport we know today. I was waiting for someone to acknowledge it lol. Morgan cleaned all the Japanese text off it but it was all just meaningless flavour text, so I...

Kanreki Hime - Vol. 1 Ch. 1 - Shared House

For now I'd say it's not gotten too bad, I expected some commentary on objectification and assault. What I noticed most when rereading is they don't seem much happier than before Goh was a woman, so I'm hoping for some acknowledgment that the desire was shallow and selfish and has consequences...

Baki Rahen - Vol. 8 Ch. 64 - In Place of a Greeting

The title in Japanese is "挨拶代わり", pretty straightforwardly (from Jisho) "substitute for a proper greeting (e.g. a gift)". I'm guessing it's talking about how Yuujirou doesn't really acknowledge Kanou or Tokugawa besides a couple words and gets straight into his little show?

Kanreki Hime - Ch. 11 - Walking Home at Night

I think it's something you see quite often in drama manga. Authors want to get the inevitable out of the way to get into the specifics of their characters' relationships and drama. It does feel over the top, but I like the comment above from keatsta. If it keeps consistent, I don't think I'll...

Kanreki Hime - Ch. 11 - Walking Home at Night

That's a really good way to put it. Sounds like Oku too, he's used to hyper-fictional stories so amplification for a SoL drama would make total sense.

Kanreki Hime - Ch. 11 - Walking Home at Night

The entire crux of the manga since chapter 1 has been that this is a house full of awkward, antisocial nerds only a couple steps removed from being full on hermits/hikikomori. You can't honestly be surprised he didn't immediately jump to beating the guy up, you're expecting something totally out...

Kanreki Hime - Ch. 11 - Walking Home at Night

I can see it being a bit comical in the sense of how sad the guys trying to hit on Goh came across, but other than that, yeah. It's getting real uncomfortable real fast, but I'm definitely a fan. These are real problems that women everywhere face, so (like I mentioned in the credits page) it's...

Kanreki Hime - Ch. 11 - Walking Home at Night

They didn't even get inside the house yet. For starters the guy ran away once Bara stepped out, then there's the fact that for all you know next chapter might start with a call to the cops, or maybe a discussion about it with "but wait, is this drug even legal? we shouldn't involve the cops"...

    Nanbanjin - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - Shôbei’s Tale, Part Two

He's likely a merchant or diplomat, or at the very least obviously someone with reason to have travelled to China and learnt their language. I wonder if it'll be at all relevant (maybe with this young master mentioned?) or if it just serves as an explanation for him washing up in Japan. Having...

Essentially. They just use a bit of a different term there.
