i feel like it's worth splitting hairs over - precognition has the inherent implication that it's an absolute, 'here's a vision of the future' type power. prediction is just that, either more or less likely to happen - but able to be subverted narratively, which makes for a better story.

here's my prediction/guess: he's dating therapy girl currently because he's the avatar of being passive, but after getting back in contact with first girl and having conversations, realises he actually has feelings for her - breaking up with therapy girl to embrace his actual romantic feelings...
