It's funny that they wanted to come up with something really alien, but ended up with something rather close to Japanese. I doubt we would have been better off, of course. The culture you grew up in is a huge influence on your way of thinking, language included, obviously.

I think there's a translation error on the second to last page: "I don't remember you acting that dog-like". The "you" is unnecessary, Chi-chan is saying this about herself - while having dog ears. XD
