Everything about this is great except, IMO, the choice of typeface. It seems a bit wide to me, making text just a smidge harder to parse. Just my 2 cents.

@jasty Ships still use the flat surface kind of thing though. I expect the curved shapes probably don't contribute any speed or maneuverability advantages so they just go with the easier design to construct.
