A win-win solution to support MD that already works at a Jp video sharing site [Rejected]

MD admins need a lot of money to keep the site online. This solution should help to make it cheaper for them and will be more environmentally friendly than merch. This already works well on nico nico douga: I propose giving users the ability to run ads for MD manga: on front page, search(similar...

Hide chapter names(optionally) and use ascending sort by default(at least, for non-followed manga) to avoid spoilers.

The only reason one would want to see latest chapters of an unread manga is to know how much of it is translated, but that can be shown some other way.

Banner images not blurred [browser bug lmao]

Also, it would be cool if it was possible to shift the position of the zoomed portion.

Option to select manga cover on front page of a manga? [Planned]

That's how it's done on many official manga reader sites. At least, an option would be nice. An exception would be manga that have really ugly vol 1 that doesn't represent the manga well and doesn't spoil much. If the user had read up until that volume, the new cover should be shown.

Option to hide unread chapter names (as they might include spoilers)

Taitoru. When you have a physical book, it's easy to skip the table of contents page - not so with what we have.

    Search by translation completion(in percentage)

I envision it looking like horizontal scroll bar that spans from 0% to 100% with a checkbox - "Unknown" by the side.

A new way to support MD: paid promotions for any manga on the site. Might also help to find overlooked stuff.

The promotion list could be displayed at the bottom of the page, perhaps.

"Find random manga" button/page where you can exclude/include genres. Or just add "Random" checkbox to the search page. :planned:

I'd really prefer to decrease the chance of me stumbling onto a yaoi manga down to 0. Adding the random chackbox to the search page would probably require placing a separate frame with a single manga page in place of the normal search results.

International Research Center for Japanese Studies has released a manga made by digitally separating parts of an ancient illustration scroll into pane

Click on 其の一 to begin reading. To proceed click on the left side. The first pages are an explanation of what has been done, so you can skip them. https://comic-walker.com/contents/detail/KDCW_CW01200695010000_68/

Reader: When the sidebar is hidden, center the manga page relative to the webpage's center without taking the sidebar button in account

Currently, the manga page is positioned a little bit to the left from the center of the page.

Add an advancesearch link to the quick search page

Feel like it's wierd not to have it there, especially when the advanced search is hidden in a submenu.

Change the icon for half-read chapters to halved eye to distinguish from completely read chapters

Also, don't include half-read chapters to the progress meter.

Add a new theme/genre: "specialist" for manga about obscure professions/vocations

There are manga about car restoration(zessyaka!), invention, anime/manga/game/novel creation, linguistics of another world, hunting, farming, search and rescue, wine serving...

When a manga only has translations in a language that is excluded by the user, inform them about it. :maybe:

The current "Notice: There are no chapters in your selected language(s)." is too vague.

Add "no chapters", "completely translated" tags :rejected:

"completely translated" should probably be hidden when at the manga page.

Rename "pub. status" to publication status to avoid confusion

Always thought it meant public status which can also mean scanlations.

The current solution is to write different names for author and artist in the manga info even when they are the same person, but that's confusing. Case in point https://mangadex.org/title/8232/abnormal-kei-joshi (which is on the way out of hiatus, judging by the author's twitter images)

The cover shown on the manga page should correlate to the last chapter's volume the user had read(to avoid spoilers) :planned:

Beats having the last available volume cover all the time. The official manga reading sites never do this.
