Yes the pacing and chapter density is just superb. Author isnt terrified of story progression but they also let things play out over a few chapters instead of just expo dumping or ass pulling left and right.

Because you can do the same thing to different people and get different outcomes. When you murder someone they are dead 100% of the time regardless of how they feel about it (unless you fuck it up). Lally easily could have chosen to live, the morality of an action cant depend entirely on things...

Mangaka do not plan this far ahead basically ever. They have maybe the first 5 chapters worth of story figured out at most unless they are someone whos already extremely established or in a unique situation.

I'd argue its really more so that the narrative is being stretched out way too much and it comes off like its taking way too long to get anywhere. the inconsequential interactions are taking up as many panels as the actual meat of the thing.

True If not for the context of the janky spirit world arc it would make it extremely honorable alongside its attempt to make the character approach reincarnation like an actual character instead of a self insert.

They really need to be more economical in their paneling. This is lingering on things that are just not interesting. And I don't really see why, there's room for a lot of cool establishing shots because these chapters have tons of pages.
