Oh no, she took his son to a sushi restaurant, what a monster. I'm having a real hard time going along with this. It's such a nothing burger to be upset about. And the suddenness of it, makes it feel like convoluted drama.

Yeah I feel like the analogy doesn't work very well with the story. It's kinda been a running theme with this manga for me, that its anecdotes for emotional moments fall kinda flat. It's cute and all, but it's not quite getting to something more profound.

The translation could've used an editor. There's a bunch of missing words and grammatical mistakes and awkward sentences, which is a shame cause clearly a lot of work was put into everything else.

There's been some very heavy issues dealt with in this manga up to now but this is maybe the hairiest yet. I'm excited to see what happens. I'm continually amazed at how the author keeps broaching these topics and with such a great level of respect and maturity. It's really impressive.

Is there any character development in this? I was really excited for a serious story of romance with this setting but I skipped to the most recent chapters and nothing at all looks to have changed. :\
