On page 14 there's a relatively important translation error. "Mom died" should be "Mom was gone" or similar. The original line is 次の日、お母さんがいなくなった

I went back to look at the raws and found that the line is "okaa-san ga inaku natta", or literally "mom was gone". It seems that the previous translator misinterpreted exactly what that meant, although to be fair this wording is indeed often used as a euphemism for death.
