I wish this focused more on finding & helping an injured animal and that animal's emotions about the situation. Instead it's a quick love story w/animals in the background. It's not what I was hoping for.

Beautifully drawn, interesting story. I recommend

    Blank Canvas

Beautiful! You must read! There's no words to read but the pictures capture so much emotion and passage of time all w/o speech or thought. This is a one shot, so super short and quick to cram in over your lunch break.

    Cats of the Louvre

So you're re-routed to read on Viz Media's site and can only access the first 3 chapters of 7 total w/o a subscription, as is usual for Viz. I get a Cats the musical feel from the beginning of this, just no singing and a more mystic feeling. It wasn't worth buying even a short term subscription...

    Paradise Kiss

There are some cool panel layout designs where things in the background overlap w/the characters or vice-versa. Example: a character in the distance being perfectly framed withing the outline of glass that wine is being poured into to show how distant she feels in the situation/conversation...

    Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi

This is a mess, and I could not force myself through the last half of volume 2 before giving up on this manga completely (there's 6 total volumes btw). Thoughts/speech cut off in the middle of a train of thought because a side character jumps in w/some silly nonsense and then it doesn't go back...

    Undercurrent

This is a slice of life, not the supernatural plot I thought I might be getting. However, for a slice of life I liked the style of how it was written; just the realistic ending was disappointing for me personally. It is worth a read, especially if you're looking for something short. The tone is...

    Horizon

This is basically a super powerful Shonen protagonist that is smart yet a bit hot headed, and who wants to get even stronger. I can't really tell you what the plot was as I'm not sure there was a concrete end goal this manga was aiming towards. It's more just an action packed day in the life of...

    Zombie Powder

Sadly this manga's run was canceled really early in Japan, yet as an uncompleted work an American publisher still published it in English over some really awesome, short, and complete story works I wish were printed in English for me to buy for my bookshelf. Anyway, I like the character designs...

Deep Love - Pao no Monogatari

Very good short manga, SUPER sad too (animal abuse warning). This is a must quick read if you can stand how sad it is (keep tissues handy). Like Kai X10 I found the story so good and well paced that I wish it was published in English so I could purchase it for my personal collection.

    Tista

EH.....just eh. There's some grammar issues and weird sounding translations. Also, frequently there's no line (-) denoting that the word ran onto the next line, so you'll see a weird lower t, for example, starting the next line and have to process that it's part of the word at the end of the...

    Manhole

It's a slightly weird sort of horror like Ito's more mild works, but there's a well defined reason why events occur and the villain makes sense. The science aspect is cool & it's well paced for being so short. If you're looking for quick reads, this one deserves a spot on your list of future titles.

    Zai x 10

This manga is silly fun. Every chapter could be a meme and keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. Then seeing how everyone crosses paths in the end is great. A must read for sure! I just wish it was published in English so I could purchase it for my bookshelf, and support the creator.

    Shino-chan Can't Say Her Name

This is worth a read; a short 1 off manga that is well put together/paced decent.

    A School Frozen in Time

This did not go the way I expected from reading the 1st two chapters on bookstore preview. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would in the end but that's just personal preferences. It is well paced & the ending doesn't feel rushed, as sometimes happens w/these short series. Definitely worth...

    Yo-u

Note that the 3rd and final volume is missing from Manga Dex and volume 2 ends on a big cliff hanger. I wish I had known before I read it, because it's well paced & full of lively characters. A must read short series and I might need to add this one to my bookshelf. If you like Rurouni Kenshin...

    Fairy Cube

This is not for beginner manga readers. The panels can get very busy & aren't the most organized/clear start-end to panels sometimes, so it can be easy to mix up the order to read. The story can be a bit confusing or hard to follow & the ending does feel a bit rushed but not terribly. It's worth...

    Ghost!

The English title fits this one much better. Started off interesting w/a new take on yaoi, but then it just got weird and events didn't really lend much to the plot.

    Bokura no Shokutaku

Gotta be my favorite slice of life manga so far (lots left on my to read list). Defiantly worth a read. It's well paced and a complete wholesome story that makes sense despite it being only 1 volume.
