Are we really sure that this was an accident? The teacher was sweating pretty hard when the student asked if it was an accident on page 11. Unless maybe it's supposed to be a secret she committed suicide from the students and the teacher is afraid it's going to be spread around?

I am SO curious about what’s going on with the “camera”. Why is it hidden? Why does he speak to it before the girl tells her story?

Somehow, this touched me. It's probably due to a long-standing wish being fulfilled, as vague as it might have been. Just seeing Kaneko's subtly surprised expression makes me feel that MC's stunt of "greeting that part of the wall as if our dead classmate was there again" was 100% worth it.

The implication is that it might not have been an accident and that the girl killed herself by walking into oncoming traffic. Whether it was an intentional or accident, the pressure and stress put on her by the demands of her teacher is why he reacted that way. He feels responsible for what happened. It's also why the protagonist ends the story wishing he had the courage to respond back while she was still alive, believing that if he had maybe she wouldn't have taken her life.
