Scanlations are supposed to be better than official releases, not make the same mistakes as them, official releases can't even center typesetting, why replicate how they butchered the kansai dialect?

Doki didn't do this either, at least not to this level.

In this case it's specially bad because Yun is supposed to be all serious this chapter and she ends up as a walking joke.

Actually yes, since I love New Game! I was quite sad because I thought you had dropped it, but I'm glad to see it back. I get that localising is a difficult balance between working on the original text and trying to give the readers the same kind of feel the Japanese audience should get. Heck, even official localisations get outrage for that (FGO for example has come under fire multiple times for it).

Yun smart.. Yun comes up with the 1 model rule. 1 model to make a ton of models! A very common thing in 3d model design. Why make two different arms for two different characters? Waste of time!
When she was angry the accent fit, but when she spoke normally it was weird. Anyway, thanks for the update! As well as have a great year folks!

Alright... so after going through the comment section, which complained about this chapter being a pain to read through, which was painful to me... I would like to clarify some things...

1.) No, we are not meant to beat the official release in terms of quality. We are not getting paid for CL/RD, Translation, and typesetting nor do we plan to be. The notion that a free to read fan scanslation is supposed to be at a higher standard than an official release from a professional industry is just ridiculous. Whilst some fansubs do strive for perfection, remember that certain groups do pay their staff for their time, WE DON'T. ( @KZO )

2.) I spoke with two natives from Japan before releasing this chapter, both of which said that the Kansai dialect is "pretty thick". This is in terms of the incantation of certain words, but also due to the number of biases on the Kansai dialect. For example, a person who speaks Kansai is generally expected to seem funny and energetic. I once again confirmed this after reading some of the comments. The original reason as to why we changed her accent was out of community suggestion. ( @kaezeribato )

3.) We aren't even supposed to be scanlating this and honestly, we should have dropped this long ago since this manga has been officially licensed. We were planning to do Volume 12 but at this point, we are completely drained. We started scanlating NewGame for our own enjoyment, and later the enjoyment of others. However, that enjoyment is slowly but surely being whittling away. Yes, we are open to criticism as this is posted publicly on Mangadex., but honestly another reason we are dropping is that we've also generally lost interest in scanlating this series. (I personally want to go back to just being a reader of New Game and nothing more.) After finishing Volume 11 we are moving on to other projects, please do support the author by purchasing the Official English, or a Japanese copy.

4.) In addition, after the completion of Volume 11, we are going to be slowly replacing Yun's accent from the previous releases with the one featured in this chapter in order to improve consistency.

To Summarise: We do apologize for our "shoddy" workmanship and will be dropping this series after chapter 128.

The translation choice doesn't bother me much, it was just odd to start doing it so far into the series.

With all due respect changing into this accent was a terrible choice. I think she should have the standard accent like everyone else. It takes out too much from the dialogue and flow. Even in the anime the Kansai dialect sounded natural enough and not this out of place.
