I kinda knew he played gacha before, but it just clicked he's not the first middle schooler male lead I've seen who plays mobile stuff semi-obsessively. I seem to recall Kaede Komura from SukiMega regularly bought mobile store point cards with his allowance or getting them as birthday presents, I believe? Though it seemed like it was because he didn't really know what to do with his time, generally, similar to how he got so good at summer festival stall games, and the kinds of games that were kind of similar to them that he frequently played when visiting arcades.
The moment he told his mom he wanted something other than those store point cards was a sign of his growth as a character, from what I remember. I really loved that story, too.
Then there's the high schooler otaku male lead who was openly playing gacha in front of his love interest Alya who Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Roshidere). Looking forward to seeing the second season of that, as well as various other upcoming anime continuations of stuff I've enjoyed lately.
Anyway... yeah. Still some miscommunication between them in this extra, whenever it takes place (considering how freely (despite hesitation) she just lays down the 'love' word, this is probably after the Kyoto-Nara trip at the very least).
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this last chapter, but it just clicked for me while reading this instead of just watching that ToniKawa also had a Kyoto-Nara trip, though for clearly different reasons since neither of the leading couple in that story are attending school during the story proper, there- male lead is basically a high school drop-out so he could search for the love of his life, and... well... female lead has extenuating circumstances... Either way, they take the opportunity to have their first trip as a couple while taking care of some important introductions.
