Why did they allow it? It seems stupid unless they got some conessions at least.

@eng1 they want to be on friendly terms with him to bring him to the US. They unintentionally piqued his interest by showing him the photo when trying to get on his good side, and now that he's interested in the corpse, they've been backed into a corner where they either accept and give him a power up while staying on his good side, or they ruin their chances of getting him to come with them if they refuse.

My nigga Woo got that power up!!!!!!
Now nobody can fuck with him.
I wonder if they are still gonna try and bring up Woo's Dad at the Conference. All Woo needs to do is point the Dragon at them, and they'll fold.

don't forget, while we know a fair bit of detail about the powers he's shown thus far, the rest of his world is clueless. they know he can control the dead, but up until now he's only extracted shadows inside dungeons or in the middle of battlefields so how he does so and what limits if any he has they don't know. so yeah, they kinda screwed themselves with the whole showing him a dragon corpse being drained of power like a giant battery, but by letting him in to raise it anyways, it not only generates good will with MC but also gives them a unobstructed viewing of him using his power, a view they can record and later analyze if need be (dunno how much that'd help them, but just having the option is a massive step in understanding his ability from basically knowing nothing, even more so since he has shown them there is at least a chance of failure)

@insaneinsomniac @zbubble There are plenty of accounts of his power to raise the dead, and same can be accomplished by hiring him to clear a dungeon with them. Giving access to a dragon that killed multiple national level hunters would be a problem, even more so since there might be hostility with his father. What are they gonna do if he gets the dragon and his father was the killer and mc turns on them and sides with his father?

You can also generate good will without giving the person what he wants for free. You can make a deal that makes it seem like you are giving up a lot but benefit more. That is what people that do PR and negotiate are for. Their actions make 0 sense in any form of the word, even more so how clueless they guy escorting the MC was about MCs intentions.

What the fuck is up with this story? They had the intel about his powers and straight up gave him a power boost without negotiating.

the problem they have it that's ALL they know, they don't know how his ability works, they don't know what his current limits are (though thanks to miss power up tool they do know he has no true limits, but I doubt they realize what that actually means). there's a hell of a difference between:
knowing he can somehow "raise the dead or something like that" and he's f***ing strong
and
knowing he extracts the mana from a being and constitutes that into a shadow replica that has all of the original's abilities, can equip MC's gear, AND grows stronger over time the more it fights. that shadow extraction can fail depending on the strength of will of the target and time since death (though they might not figure out the time thing given he just raised a dragon that'd been dead for years) or if the target's mana was excessively corrupted. and further more that MC's legion of the shadows he successfully raised becomes completely loyal and is essentially indestructible as long as MC is able and willing to supply more mana. they surely don't know he can raise more shadows than he can save, that only making calling or reviving shadows requires mana and they can exist indefinitely without further cost as long as they aren't destroyed, or that he can fight with melee, assassination techs, telekinesis, and magic in his own right on top of his shadow based skills. and while several people suspect he can grow stronger in his own right, no one has proof he's anything more than the most powerful double awakened person ever with a growing army of shadow soldiers. and that he's been dragged into the middle of a war between monsters and angel like beings, a war which is about to spread to the whole world.
yeah, bit of a difference there...
and, sure, there's a couple people out there who survived incidents he was involved in and thus know little bits of what he can do, but most of them are korean, probably don't understand what they saw, and aren't telling anyone about what they saw anyways, let alone giving that information to the US hunter guild.

@insaneinsomniac You are overvaluing the information. Let us rehash, they were trying to recruit him by using that skill rune as bait. But here they are giving away the dragon that would make him stronger then the rune for free? And if he pulls it off, he will become strong enough to wipe them all out!

Even worse, they might get into hostilities with his father which will turn them into an enemy.

It would be one thing maybe if he agreed to work for them, but for free? You are kidding right?

They might as well be saying, let us find out how sharp someones sword is by offering them to chop off our necks!

I wonder if SJW wants Kamish solely for its (obvious) strength, or that's a (very useful) side benefit and he wants it so he could question him about what it knows (being the vanguard, its possible Kamish has a lot of knowledge about the setup for war going on).
