That's the first story done!

Onwards, I'd like to change how I translate. These stories are deeply rooted in a traditional japanese setting so there's a lot of terminology people may not be familiar with (I myself had to google stuff). So I'd like to add more translator's notes. Not for basic stuff like ronin or edo, but it'd be nice for more niche stuff like the sanzu river or kandagawa. What do you think?

It'd probably be nice to add them for things that are important to understand the context or tone of the dialogue and story but not for basic stuff, yeah. If we're talking about old manga I like how translator's notes were done in Lone Wolf and Cub, they were pretty informative and immersed me in the cultural setting of the era.

Yeah, it's obvious some of these writers were real history nuts. Lady Snowblood (And to a lesser extant A Showa Era Woman) had these big walls of text from time to time just to explain the historical context. But this one sadly doesn't have that

For exemple, all the stuff about the sanzu river in the first story or the third story (spoilers) focusing on goze women makes it way harder to understand for the average westerner like me whose knowledge of mythology or edo history doesn't extend beyond a few manga or films on the subject matter
