This was an edgelord story. It's more common than not that the wrongdoers must be made to suffer for a long time in such stories. Although sometimes it does feel like the authors themselves are laughing at the "fate worse than death" trope because the villains may be able to escape when the MC refuses to simply kill them immediately.
I think your really not understanding the Gravity of the Situation and simply calling it an 'Edgelord' Story is a Disservice really.
Alright first off the situation of these 2.
Blonde is the Bully.
And Black is the Protag.
From the First few Pages. We've seen the level of humiliation, bullying and abuse Black has been subjected too.
Blonde only seems to have started this because he lost that Angel Friend all these Awaken People get at the Start.
If Blonde's Crimes had only stopped at this point I can see it being a bit over the top. But it
didn't.
Black has just been dragged to another bullying attempt that he fought back against. And what did Blonde do?
He killed Black's Angel Friend. His first Supporting Pillar in that shithole.
Blonde's Reason? He was being
Petty. He was angry that
Black still has an Angel Friend Alive.
So he Killed her on
the Pettiest Reason Imaginable
.
Blonde:
"Now you're just like me."
We've seen there's no Justice System for the Awakened involved for these Crimes. The only People who knows what happened.
Would be God, the Dead Angel, Black & Blonde.
Now. Moving on a bit. What
had Blonde done to have the 'Forgiveness' that Black has been Subjected to the bullying that spanned Years by Blonde's Friends
and the killing of his Friend?
Blonde from Middle School to High School and Beyond. Has done
Nothing.
He allowed his 'Friends' to still Demean & Humilliate Black.
He's moved on with a girlfriend.
And in all those Years? Done nothing for Black. Has not shown any remorse or reflection at the Crimes He's committed.
His Apology?
Look at this he's only doing it because his Girlfriend is watching.
The last nail for this is that he still doesn't seem to understand it was the Plain Murder of the Angel that set off Black.
His last words in this One Shot was to
beg for his Life when
all this started because he took that Angel's Life Lightly.
Black was the Victim here.
Honestly the Biggest joke to all this?
This is Entirely Blonde's own Fault. He didn't need to stoop to Bullying the Weak, didn't need to commit murder on an innocent Angel begging him to stop, Blonde could have reflected and searched for genuine Forgiveness to Black for his Crime.
Blonde treated the Innocent Life he took as weightless and paid for it.
