You can tell this was the authors first work because the pacing was fucking brutal. The editor should have stepped in ahead of time they started that last training match arc chapter 7 and even by the 35th chapter it hadn't ended lmao. Just completely unacceptable pacing for an arc that should have taken maybe 5 chapter tops.

Its a damn shame too cuz the fighting game parallels to fencing was a great concept and the art was striking but they fucking loaded that training arc up so densely that there wasn't a chance in hell this series could go the distance with how much time they spent on it.

I'm legitimately baffled by how the author was allowed to let the arc drag on so long. There was even a chance for an out when the MC passed out after his match that I thought they'd just skip to the end of the training to allow for development outside of the training arc but they just brought us right back in lmfao.

I hope the author gets another chance for a series n the future but they gotta work with an editor who handles pacing a little better lmao.
