Its funny, i think this is the first manga where I don't want the main mc and fmc to end up together, I really like lilisa, but i feel like okumura and mikari should be the end couple. My favorite is still aria and mayuri, but i want mikari to be the one to be canon couple with. I wouldn't mind the mangaka doing spinoff epilouge chapters of what the other girls winning would look like.

Fuck, this looks to be the final nail in the coffin. I honestly don't like this justification I'm seeing for why Mikarin isn't really fit for Okumura. This whole she wasn't really doing anything to help him crap. Even so, she still genuinely loved who he is and did so much to try to gain his affection. Yet it's always these type of girls who lose. I hate this trope, it feels sadistic that it happens so often.

You do realize "the girl who never showed up the next day" scenario typically happens to the heroine right?
But overall this is a necessary plot for Mikari because for all that she's best girl, she really doesn't have much to her name outside of her obsession with Okumura. But she's opperating under the assumption that he doesn't know her feelings, but that's the reason he's even conscious of those changes.

While Okumura is the one that will ultimately choose, Mikari being the main character of this arc is a sign that she's not going to go down that easily.

I thought we were seeing the end of the Mikari ship until the last page who gave me a strong Nisekoi vibe. We'll have to wait and see if the next chapter has the characters acting casual about her disappearance or this last arc will be about Okumura chasing her.
Personally I'd prefer Lylisa or Marina senpai but now it's up to the author.

I would be interested if the author didn't take the Nisekoi route or the Bokuben route. I don't want an end where "the supposed 'main heroine' is losing" or "everybody was having a good ending" AGAIN. It's because there's no hindsight in the beginning of this story, like the "promised girl" or "some school festival legend" in the middle of the story, it kinda just flows. So, the ball is up for grabs for everybody in that manga club. The author literally could make Okumura end up with Tsubaki, and I'm pretty sure the backlash is going to be tamer than Nisekoi. So I'm really excited about how this story would end.

Alternate universes, like different endings or different routes like in Amagami sisters IIRC.. It's unlikely. But girls deserve happy endings too with Okumura ( because they love him; Marina, Aria who else Taki, Nagomi) ( or Yuri routes)

I don't hate her at all, and I think she's a funny character but I would be really disappointed if Okumura ended up with her given how little their relationship has evolved compared with the other girls, and how little she has evolved as a character.

I think a lot of her supporters are childhood friend fans.
Personally I don't hate her, but to me the main appeal of the manga was the romance and a Mikari win won't feel as fullfilling as Lylisa who has always been the main focus of the story.

Also, it was Lilysa who made Okumura mature and evolve as a person, pushing his self-imposed boundaries and even making him conscious of women again. Meanwhile, Mikari spent years just letting him be. I don't hate Mikari; she's a funny character. However, after re-reading the whole manga a few weeks ago, I can't help thinking that she doesn't deserve to win, since all she's done is act creey towards Okumura and cry about how much she loves him and how little she's done for him every now and then, while Lilysa makes him change.

She's bland and superficial, and she will win because she's sad. Otherwise the author would look like a cruel ass. I don't think Ilysa will win, which sucks, but since they've basically made her into an asexual goofy alien, dropped the 'what are these feelings?' plot, and made Okumura bleed the most over Mikarin, I saw this coming. I no longer care; I enjoyed this manga more when it was an ecchi comedy. Ilysa is the better-developed character hence why I'd be happier if she wins. But along with the manga's changes, Okumura's was turned into a bland background character, so I don't care who ends up with him.
