They seem to really like him right now. Why not just hire them to do security work and buy their loyalty that way?
This shouldn't even be a problem, these guys are just mercenaries, they aren't settlers from Gorman, or serfs or whatever.

Problem is how to convince his parent to hire them. It is one thing if it is natural disasters as there would always be a sign or omen but hiring a mercenary group?

To protect the territory and or family ? They already have soldiers with certain loyalty. He be making that pose again.

Then there is a political implication

Gorman will still view it as an insult . Nobles are prideful and their nobles are perfect examples.

yes, I know they are already been fired but Gorman is the nobles who complained about them using the water when they are upstream.

While the Gorman territory may not like it, these guys are mercenaries which means their sword goes to the highest bidder. The best solution would probably be to have them drop the mercenary title and become an employed elite squadron for this territory which his brother could potentially lead in the future. It would add competent protection for the brother and strengthen the territorial defense at the same time.

Side note since refugee status is typically seen as temporary, they can demand payment from the other territories for taking care of their citizens during a crisis. The food stores may be empty, but I'm guessing the coffers aren't empty. If they negotiate through the king or a chancellor, it would be hard to dispute it later. If they refuse and demand the citizens returned regardless, then those territories could see their people revolt, which would equally make it hard for future attacks on this territory since they would have domestic issues to quell first.

Wowsers, a generous refugee policy that allows fraud(in the case of asylum) while providing free food and guaranteed work. Is this story just going to hand wave any complications? That's a pretty intense thing for any region to do. Not that I think it's a bad thing, it's just a lot to summarize with "it all worked and everyone loved it."

My dude what you mean you was distracted by the beard lmao
I think he means he did not recognized him since the beard stand out. There are people who look vastly different from bearded to shaved and it is 10 years in the future. He did not get to be a general without any physical changes

Quick correction:
"Weiss Schwarzfalke" is suddenly name "Black Hawk Weiss" on pg. 28.
And the company (pg. 27) should be named "Doppelköpfiger Falke", which is correct German.

In this case, you should think of it as a medieval setting, so all the common people are serfs, aka owned by the landowners. So they are basically the property of the nobles. Thus, this is something the common people are very grateful for, and it would be innovative for the time. It would be the best those common folk could find, and I doubt many would like to fight it. If so, the rest of the refugees would likely address the problems fast so as not to trouble the rest. Also, it helps that it is people of the same class and culture as the rest of the territory.

Homogeneity and the scale of the regions does go a long way toward making this reasonable. I guess I'm just running on gut feeling heavily influenced by present day real world immigration information osmosis, which doesn't map onto this period at all.

Hopefully, chapter 6 will be a solid breakdown of the territory's Department of Labor statistics followed up by a round table discussion of the economic outlook of the next few quarters by leading experts in the field.

Just hire em. They're mercenaries.

If anything, these mercenaries are the least problematic issue you have going on here compared to your overly permissive and generous benefit system that seems like it should be stretching both your resources and your taxes in a hefty manner. Not to mention courting trouble with another group by playing coy.

Well, it's an isekai. It'll work out for some reason. Typically blind luck.

You got money and food now. Hire the 5-star units.

Have them officially train with your brother to capitalize on both their talents. And definitely bodyguard him when the conflict arises. you can bet they'll be happy to throw down with their former employers, who seem keen on starting shit, too.
