If you wish to be pretty, but retain your masculinity you can start with small things - hairpins, patterns etc. Something that you can kind of match to your current style, but reject easily if you don't like it. Also, it helps both you and people around you to adjust.
It's not something that I experienced with fashion, but starting being comfortable with what you like is nice
