While I don't think you're completely off-base (she should have a decent amount of trauma built up over the years that could be dredged up and piled onto more recent memories), it's most likely just the typical Japanese joke about how women are sensitive about their age. Thanks for the chapter.
Lily getting tied to the tree to stop her alter ego jumping in at night was a nice touch.
As an aside:
To my understanding, Veronica’s last line refers to how Olive’s stress is connected to the series of book she follows. The story aside (which could make things worse), the series triggers Olive’s memories and since she lives for a long time, she also remembers many sad events about the adventurers’ lives and careers.
In combination with busy season at work this will exacerbate her stress to the point of the stress tree grows rapidly.
Even worse, the series author is an elf as well, so it’s not gonna stop anytime soon and new volumes will keep coming out and reaches Olive.
Please correct me if I made a misunderstanding.

It's a culture that used to call women an "expired/leftover Christmas cake" if they were unmarried by age 25 and often women in their 30s+ (or even late twenties) in anime would claim to be "Forever 17!".
Olive is at least 200 years old, so imagine her reaction when people start going "damn bitch, you're older than the sun!"
Yeah, that is a dumb reasoning based on a middle ages level thinking, unfortunately... it isnt a Japan exclusive thought, and worse yet there is people that think that 20 is already too old. While I don't think you're completely off-base (she should have a decent amount of trauma built up over the years that could be dredged up and piled onto more recent memories), it's most likely just the typical Japanese joke about how women are sensitive about their age.

Sorry, I guess I didn't convey it well. Though to be honest, Im only 70% sure I got this right. Since their ages was not explicitly mentioned, I think Olive herself is around 40-50 and the 200 years old one is someone else (the one that introduced the book to her). In the last page, Veronica is worried that there are readers out there (of the series) that could possibly holding 200 years amount of memories and just how large the trees they'll grow once triggered by the story. Thanks for the chapter.
