@Darkmeep That's generally only true for basic employment since in most places you need to be a certain age to get a job but a family business would usually be exempt. It was 13 to get a work permit where I grew up but I could work in my step-fathers auto shop even when I was only 8.
Going into a dungeon however would be considered hazardous work which is different and in most places a hard no go for kids often even if they are old enough to get a work permit. It would be like me (I'm infantry and work for a PMC) taking my kid on a deployment with me. Child Protective Services really aren't going to care that it's a family business. lol
I was just poking fun at how the author mixed in random modern era things in both culture and technology but other areas are still treated like it was the middle ages.
