Marl was in a pinch because someone was aiming for her to be his wife. As a princess, her royal obligation forced her to complied with that demand as it would have less risk considering the other party. But Marl was a free spirit, and so she tried to find a candidate to be her one-and-only husband, get laid (aka lose her virginity so she won't be betrothed to the other guy), and devotes herself to her husband.

Marl has a special ability (almost intuition-like) to find the thing she wants to find (or at least the clues that will bring her to her target), and her ability brought her to MC.

I find it hilarious that whoever defined Marl as a "free spirit" but she just basically didn't want to be forcefully married and instead went after another guy that she chooses? Needs?

I really appreciate that you pointed out that she had that incredible ability to find anything that she wants, it both excuses her "free spirit" of just looking fir another guy. And it kind of makes her look a bit dumb: if you have the power to find whatever you want, then just look for some dirt on the other guy to convince your kingdom that he is a scumbag.

I see some comments here trying to say that: "Marl isn't just date raping the MC right now."
To them I say, you are a hypocrite and sexist or even a misandrist. Of course she is date raping him!
She asked for a special drink to get him drunk and horney and dragged him to a bed while semi-concious and got him naked and put herself in his bed and didn't let him sleep it off!

Quick question. Many of these isekai series are created based on wish fulfillment: the conscious or unconscious desire to live a slow life, unfettered by governmental or societal norms, getting revenge on the kids who talked behind his back in high school, etc etc.

If that’s the case here, does that mean the author wants to have a girl date rape him to force him to take responsibility for her?
