a question for you guys, do you maaaaaybe plan on picking up The moon on a rainy night? 👉👈
I'm not going to say "No", but there are a few issues we've had to think about with picking it up.

First, one of us hasn't read it (lol). Second, Mangadex isn't our priority for scanlating so if we were to pick it up we'd have to tackle the question of "Do we redo the stuff that hasn't been done/has already been done but is gone now, or do we just only upload for Mangadex and continue from chapter 42?" In fact, we originally weren't even sure if we were going to upload this series here until someone else decided to rip the chapter and repost it here themself.

Third, we like to put out the highest quality we can (we try our best) and that means full redraws and recreating English versions of the SFX, translating signs or things like Tsuki-chan's sash/T-shirt, etc. etc. Since we picked up Didn't We Say We'd Live Together we've been getting the chapters done at a rate of about 2-3 weeks each (new chapters come out every 3-5 weeks). We started several months ago and have only now just caught up with the raws. In comparison, The Moon on a Rainy Night updates at about twice that rate with a partial chapter roughly every 2-3 weeks. That's a subtantially higher work load on top of this series and other things we work on. We'd then be forced to either take a very long time working on each chapter or sacrificing quality for one of the series or even both.

And again, I'm not saying this is a "No", but it is a decision we've kind of actively put off while we focus on what's in front of us and waited and saw if someone else would pick up Moon or how heavy our workload would be down the line.

This story even has a connection to The Moon on a Rainy Night, since Iwate is the setting of that story. I wonder if we'll see a cameo or some other more substantial connection?
I didn't actually know that! Very interesting.

Well, I'll ask since someone went and asked like this.
Any chance for Egao no Taenai? Hasn't been touched in months so you wouldn't be stepping on anyone's shoes and there's like 10 volumes of something of backlog to go through so you can do it at your own leisure.

damn, I'm quite concerned about Mei's family situation. 15 y/o's don't generally go on 3 hour train rides traveling over 500km because of arguments with parents, and given the way that Hinako reacted it almost reads like she's a neglectful parent.

Well the honest answer to both is that I’m very much the bottleneck here, as work and life have me very busy lately. I did watch Egao no Taenai last year and really adored it (which is why I was excited to TL this series when Cyrra suggested it). But for the near term, I just don’t have the bandwidth to start translating another series (much less one with a 10 volume backlog :nyoron:).

Bless Cyrra for doing all the hard stuff for this series and being patient while I take ages to get around to doing a short translation :hearts:
