Beautifully structured chapter. Really hit home the loneliness of a single parent who can't see their kid, and the urgency to be some semblance of the parent you want to be but can't. I dunno, I guess it hit a personal nerve having been through similar.
34 has got to particularly suck for being a single parent to an only child though.

Makes me wonder what happened that led to the divorce. I imagine it was amicable separation (or at least I hope so). But I'm curious. I'm sure that will be explained soon enough.
