god. Their circumstances aren't quite the same but it is so painfully easy to see how much of this Yui there is (and isn't) in Anzu, I can't imagine what it feels like for Yui to have to acknowledge that overlap either after this chapter and the last, especially since she apparently does want Anzu to have the option to get away from it all

seeing her cry because of Soutaro's words was sweet in the moment but, that just makes me even more terrified to eventually learn why he left her and Anzu behind

...wonder if we'll ever get to see Yui attend one of Anzu's shows... don't know if it would help at all but it has to be a better way to have a conversation than anything they've done so far......

thanks for the chapter, stellar work as always!

What an incredibly sad person.
This isn't meant as an insult. She had a horrible life, surrounded by horrible people, and when the only miserable person that gave her purpose was gone she was ready to end it all in big spectacle for some other "miserable" person to appear before her to give her a new reason to keep living. Just a chain of sadness and misery. I just wonder what happened to the father that brought all this going down. He seemed alright and probably just liked her from afar.

Why do apparently good things crumble away like they did to this family? Did the mother feared something and acted before whatever she thought would happened, and self destructed? Going down by her own terms? Bringing the family with her? Why did the father leave and left behind his daughter? Really sad to see the contrast of what seemed to be a typical romance... and then there's the present, and every right seems so miserable still. The misery spreads and festers. Inherited.

A chain of misery going back four generations... that we know of. I bet there's a Hokusai print of Anzu's great-great-great-great grandmother suffering and then dishing it out on her children. I bet there's a Yamato dynasty poet 1000 years ago who wrote about hating their mom for marrying her off to a cruel lord.

Does "don't make it look unnatural" mean expose their leak, or does it mean "murder them!?" Anzu's mom is even scarier than we thought. Just a corporate gangster psychopath with an absurd amount of childhood trauma.

I recently learned that the usual thing people spout about "dogs r loyal, will never eat ur body - cats will eat u right after u die" isn't actually supported by any evidence. Apparently after researching the cases where an animal is confined with the corpse of their owner, dogs have in some cases eaten the owner's corpse but no cases were ever found where a cat did. They suspected the reasons were (1) most wild cats have an aversion to eating carrion, and (2) house cats are almost always picky eaters. And those last two points kinda track intuitively, right? So that whole thing was just more propaganda from Big Canine. Thanks, paw patrol.

And thanks for the TL. Never know what to expect with this manga, but it's always great (if a bit sad and disturbing).
