Fuck it, guess I'll contribute.

Feel like this is dying thing, racing. Cars are more expensive and harder to work on. More electronics and plastics makes it way harder to maintain for the average do-it-yourselfer. And because of noise restrictions, I don't think there are fewer places you can race. It's a rich man's hobby.

That might change if enough electrical vehicles get junked and become more affordable. Until then, it's only for those you can afford to crash, hence only people with 30-year-old money pits with fewer junkyard parts every year (technical knowledge) or people with means (money).

It's like hunting. Both really poor and rural people do it out of necessity, or very wealthy people can do it. No in between. I feel bad for any 10 years old reading MF Ghost or Intial D right now.

Look up Togue if you are interested in this stuff.
What about autocross? I've seen people do that with little money, and depending on where you live I'm sure there's an amateur league you can take part of but you'd need some budget, tires aren't cheap :p

I see you like BMW! 😄

I wouldn't call BMW the pinnacle of engineering though. Only BMW people do that.

There are many choices I would pick for pinnacle of engineering. Like:
I know owning a BMW makes you a better person, because that is what BMW owners tell me.

I looked up the price and mileage for those cars, that hurts.

Formula 4 is somewhat reasonable to get into. Its still a couple hundred thousand tho. 😅

But thats better than the 5 to 10 million dollars you'd need to get into Formula 1.

Also, I know a lot of people who buy used sports cars and race on the local circuits for a couple hundred dollars a race.

I dont know how affordable that is from your pov tho.

Well, they've been wrong before. 😂

Yeah, but Clarkson's stereotypical Jaaaaaag owner seems very cat-like. "Oh dear, I've knocked everything off the counter and absconded with your sandwich."

Ohhh deeeaaarrr,

Was that a...police officer I just passed while driving rather expeditiously? I do say...he might just have to catch me. Or at least trryyyy to. Meowwwww.

Electric vehicles are extremely popular in our country nowadays, with more than half of people opting for electric or hybrid cars. I once owned a Skoda Fabia

, and later switched to the electric car Polestar 4.

It drives incredibly well—super quiet and comfortable, and it’s also really cost-effective. Up to now, I’ve driven 80,000 kilometers and the total electricity cost has been exactly around 1,000 US dollars. Insurance and maintenance over three years add up to about 2,600 US dollars. My only regret is buying it too early, because I really like the Xiaomi SU7 that Xiaomi launched later.

Primarily, you can tell I’m a Xiaomi user from the watermark on the pictures. I really long for a car of the same brand as my mobile phone.
