I'm usually fine with ass-pull circumstantial evidence in Kindaichi because the research is done off-screen and evidence at least supposedly exists, but this was bullshit. There were so many more assumptions made than usual, especially for the motivation. In a normal Kindaichi story half of what was just revealed would be narrated afterward during the criminal's explanation phase or during the subsequent detailed investigation. This is one of my least favorite cases.

Except for the hardening sand and the culprit being out of town since Kindaichi solved those off-screen, but I think it's because Kindaichi can tell that the culprit is in love if not highly admire the murder victim so hence his conclusion.
